Merrythought is proud to celebrate Catherine, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, with this stunning collectable teddy bear.

Honouring Her Royal Highness’s important role within the British Royal Family, and recognising her timeless beauty, the Merrythought team have hand-crafted this exquisite bear from the finest soft-brown mohair and pure cotton velvet paws, upon which is embroidered a golden royal crown. She features deep brown eyes and a friendly hand-stitched smile, encapsulating Catherine’s kind nature, for which she is respected for around the world.

The bear’s delicately designed outfit comprises a replica of a favourite cream coat and wide-brimmed hat that Her Royal Highness has worn during several important occasions. Her sinamay hat features organza flower detail, whilst her fully-lined coat is adorned with a stunning gold-plated replica of the Three Feathers Brooch. The brooch itself has great significance, since it was originally gifted to Queen Alexandra in 1863 upon her marriage to King Edward VII. Featuring the iconic Prince of Wales's Feathers, the brooch has been passed down to each generation of the Royal Family and was regularly worn by Catherine’s late mother in law, Diana, the former Princess of Wales.

Each bear is individually numbered as part of a Special Edition and has a Certificate of Authenticity.

At Merrythought we source only premium materials to lovingly create our teddy bears. The best quality mohair or alpaca plush is selected and neatly cut to each soft toy’s unique set of patterns, many of which are based on original templates from the earliest years. Incorporating other natural fabrics, such as wool felt and cotton, the pieces are expertly worked with traditional needle and thread to form each part of the bear.

British Craftsmanship

The eyes, legs, arms and joints are skilfully sewn and assembled by hand, gradually creating the recognisable characteristics of the Merrythought bear. Taking time to fill the toy to an optimum weight, it is then ready for the finishing touches; a carefully hand-embroidered nose and smile, a thorough brush and trim, and a neatly tied ribbon bow.
